Bio
Matt is a Toronto-based musical theatre book writer, playwright and lyricist. Musical credits include: Maggie – co-book, co-music and co-lyric (collaboration with acclaimed recording artist Johnny Reid). Maggie received its co-world premiere at Theatre Aquarius, Charlottetown Festival and Savoy Theatre in 2023 and will make its American debut in 2024 at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. He wrote six Ross Petty Pantos: Peter’s Final Flight, Lil’ Red Robin Hood, The Wizard of Oz and A Christmas Carol as well as two digital productions: There’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays and Alice in Winterland. A Christmas Carol was recorded for broadcast by CBC/Family Channel. Matt is set to write Canadian Stage Company’s premiere holiday panto; a brand new adaptation of The Wizard Of OZ, in association with Ross Petty Productions.
Plays include: Chronicles Of Sarnia which premiered at the Blyth Festival, Myth Of The Ostrich which was first presented at the Toronto Fringe Festival, followed by the Next Stage Theatre Festival, followed by a world premiere at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.
